My name is Rachel Strate, with my digital presence being represented by the name Wasatch Girl in reference for my love of the Wasatch mountain range. I currently work as an analyst for a venture capital firm based in Salt Lake City, UT. In my personal time I spend as much time as I can outdoors, either climbing (mostly rock, but some ice), snowboarding, running and traveling. My complete bio is as follows:

Rachel Strate has been an Analyst for EPIC Ventures since 2005. Subsequently in 2007 she was also a researcher for the best-selling book “The Breakthrough Company”, written by Keith McFarland and published by Random House in January 2008.

Prior to EPIC, Rachel Strate interned with TD Securities in the index option trading division where she assisted in creating markets, calculating hedges, and communicating risk levels with traders on the floors of the CBOE and AMEX. Before interning with TD, Rachel was an Associate with the University Venture Fund where she performed due diligence on a variety of deals for national venture capital firms and assisted in the marketing efforts for the first University Private Equity Summit. She subsequently was a fund manager for the University of Utah’s Student Managed Portfolio. Rachel holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Utah and currently is working through Computer Science classes also at the University of Utah.

Rachel Strate assists as an observer on the boards of Alliance Health, Vortex, Globecast and Q Therapeutics. She previously assisted on Mozy.com.
